Quick answer: Yes, you can wait out a night inside Rhodes Airport (RHO). Fraport Greece, which runs Diagoras, lists terminal and airport operating hours as every day 00:00 to 23:59, so the building never shuts. What stops at night is everything around it: both lounges keep 07:00 to 24:00, the last RODA bus to Rhodes Town leaves at 00:45, and the first one out of town does not depart until 05:15. Plan around those three numbers, not around the doors.
Two operator documents, one answer: open 24 hours
The operator states those hours twice. Its Rhodes airport website shows "Terminal & Airport Operating Hours: Every Day 00:00 – 23:59" on every page, and its summer 2026 operating-hours table, version 3 issued on 2 June 2026, lists Rodos Airport "Diagoras" (LGRP) at 00:00 to 23:59 daily from 2 June to 24 October 2026. A footnote on that table adds that passenger terminal buildings open for longer periods than the listed runway hours.
Traffic explains why. RHO handled 7,093,264 passengers on 48,482 flights in 2025, and August 2026 alone brought 1,377,659 passengers on 8,655 flights, close to 280 a day. Winter is a different airport: January 2026 counted 62,552 passengers on 638 flights. Because that summer table ends on 24 October 2026, check the airport website again before a November night.
Who ends up sleeping here: the night flights
On 24 September 2026 the official departures feed, read at 17:26 local time, showed a TUI Airways flight to Manchester at 01:45, then nothing until Enter Air to Poznań at 05:00 and Aegean Airlines to Oulu at 05:05. Arrivals ran past midnight too: Aegean from Athens at 00:10, TUI from Manchester due at 00:30 and already showing 01:05, and Enter Air from Gdańsk at 04:15. On that night the quiet window ran from 01:45 to 04:15, and those 150 minutes are what this guide plans for.

Landside or airside: where the night actually happens
Screening admits only passengers whose boarding pass validates, printed or on a phone. A line on Fraport's security page tells early arrivals to ask airport personnel what time they may go through, so at 02:00 expect to sit in the check-in hall rather than at your gate. That hall is the all-users part of the building, and most of what you need overnight sits there.
Lounges will not rescue a 03:00 wait. "The Lounge" Rhodes and the Goldair Handling Lounge are both on Level 2 of the intra-Schengen area, and both open 07:00 to 24:00; Goldair runs only from 1 April to 7 November 2026. Global Lounge Network, which operates The Lounge, advertises day beds and a Zen room but caps each visit at 3 hours. According to Fraport, it accepts Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass, Lounge Pass and On pass, plus Visa and Mastercard payment. For a 07:30 departure that is a good last hour; for a 01:05 arrival it changes nothing.
Food, power and Wi-Fi after midnight
The operator's list for RHO has 13 cafés and restaurants. Four are landside: Aircanteen, Cosmopolitan and Gregory's in the departures all-users area, and Everest on the landside ground level. Its list gives locations but no opening hours, so treat a hot meal at 03:00 as luck and buy water and a snack at 23:00 while you can. Hudson and RHO Kiosk, both in that all-users area, sell drinks, snacks and travel basics.
Power is easier. Free charging stations stand in the check-in hall, in the gate area after security and beside arrivals belt 3, with wireless pads, USB hubs and sockets. Wi-Fi is free on a network called Fraport-Free, through a welcome page in your browser. Eurobank and Cashflex ATMs are landside, Euronet has machines airside in departures and arrivals, and the OneXchange desk in arrivals says it serves "every day, every hour". Trolleys cost nothing: one coin unlocks a trolley and comes back when you return it.
The airport-services page lists 8 entries: lost property, business lounges, first aid, ATMs, currency exchange, car rental, Wi-Fi and device charging. None of those 8 is a rest zone, a pod or a shower, so pack an eye mask, earplugs and 1 warm layer for air conditioning.
Beds 5 minutes away: Paradisi and Kremasti
The airport's official address is Paradisi, Rhodes 851 06, and Kremasti is the neighbouring village. Vallian Village Hotel in Paradisi describes itself as a 5-minute drive from the airport and 400 metres from the shore. In Kremasti, Maritime Hotel puts the airport at 4 km and Rhodes Town at 9 km, with a 24-hour reception; Anseli Hotel gives 5 km to the airport, 300 metres to the village centre, and also a 24-hour reception. For a flight after 09:00, Rhodes Town is a better base. From Fraport's published airport coordinates (36.402156, 28.090647) to Eleftherias Gate of the Old Town, the road route on OpenStreetMap data measures 14.9 km, and the first RODA bus covers it from 05:15 on all 7 days of the week.

Note the weekday gap: from Monday to Friday the first airport-to-town bus is 06:50, 65 minutes later than at weekends, so a 05:00 weekday arrival faces 110 minutes without a bus. KTEL Rodou line 25 to Faliraki costs €3.50, leaves the airport between 07:30 and 23:30, and runs from 4 May to 30 September 2026.
Taxis wait at the rank in front of Arrivals (T1). Fares are national, set by ministerial decision 191290/2022 (Government Gazette B' 3136) and amended on 18 September 2026 by Gazette B' 5674: flag fall €1.80, Tariff 1 €0.90 per km, Tariff 2 €1.25 per km, a €4 minimum fare, a €4 airport surcharge and €20 per hour of waiting. Between 00:00 and 05:00 Tariff 2 applies to every kilometre, inside or outside town limits.
So a night ride of 14.9 km to the Old Town gate works out at €1.80 plus €18.63 plus €4.00, about €24.40 on the meter, with €0.39 extra for each bag over 10 kg and up to €5.65 more if you pre-book. Safety and the small things that help
According to its privacy notice, Fraport Greece runs a CCTV system to protect people and property, under the National Civil Aviation Security Regulation and Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority directives. Anything found in the terminal goes to a lost property office run by the Police, on +30 22410 82249, and a first aid spot covers medical emergencies, with the information counters as first contact. Passengers who need assistance should book it through their airline at least 48 hours before departure, and that rule holds at 04:00 as much as at noon.
Set 2 alarms for a 05:00 departure and keep the live departures board open, because one late arrival, like that TUI flight slipping from 00:30 to 01:05, can move your whole night by 35 minutes.
