From Rhodes International Airport (RHO) you can reach the west-coast resorts of Ixia and Ialysos in about 10–15 minutes, Faliraki and Kallithea to the east in around 30 to 35 minutes, and clifftop Lindos in the south in roughly an hour, by taxi, private transfer, hotel shuttle or rental car. Many visitors are not heading for the city at all, but for these resort and beach areas, from Ixia, Ialysos and Kremasti on the west coast to Lindos further south.

Getting to your resort
- Private transfer: fixed price and a driver waiting at arrivals, easiest with luggage and the surest way to a specific resort; see private transfers.
- Taxi: on demand at the rank, charged on the meter with surcharges, ask for an estimate for your resort before you set off, especially for Lindos.
- Rental car: ideal if you plan to explore the island's beaches and villages at your own pace; desks are in the terminal.
- Hotel shuttle: some resorts include or arrange a pick-up, check when you book.
Resort areas vs Rhodes Town
The beach resorts put you by the sea; Rhodes Town keeps you among the restaurants and the UNESCO-listed medieval Old Town. See our hotels guide to weigh them up. Confirm transfer prices and resort pick-ups close to your travel date, as rates can change.
