Two budget options link Rhodes International Airport (RHO) with Rhodes Town, about 14–15 km and a 20–25 minute drive away on a clear run: a hotel shuttle if your accommodation offers one, and the RODA public bus into town, the cheapest choice. There is no train or metro on the island, so for comfort with luggage or a late arrival a taxi or private transfer is the alternative.
Hotel shuttles
Many resorts and hotels arrange an airport shuttle for their guests, either complimentary or for a set fee. It is the easiest budget-friendly option because it takes you straight to your accommodation. Shuttles are not automatic, though, confirm the service and timing when you book your room, and let the hotel know your flight details so a driver can meet you.
The public bus (RODA)
The bus into town is run by RODA, the municipal operator covering Rhodes Town and the north-west suburbs out to Paradisi, where the airport sits. Its buses stop on the main road by the airport and are the cheapest way into Rhodes Town. Be aware that the schedule is limited, especially in the evenings, at weekends and out of season, and large suitcases can be awkward. It suits flexible, light-packing travellers more than those arriving late with lots of luggage. The separate KTEL intercity buses serve the east-coast resorts (Faliraki, Lindos) from Rhodes Town, and in summer KTEL also runs a direct line 25 between the airport and Faliraki (€3.50 one way, roughly hourly in season), so for Faliraki you do not need to go through town at all.

Is the bus right for you?
- Choose the bus if: you want the lowest fare, are travelling light, and your timing is flexible.
- Choose a taxi or transfer if: you have heavy luggage, are arriving after dark, or are travelling as a group, see our airport taxis and private transfers.
- Have cash ready: keep some small euro notes for the fare, though it is worth checking whether cards are accepted on board.
